THE MOST SUCCESSFUL FUTSAL CLUB IN FINLAND

Ilves futsal team (Ilves FS) is the most successful club in Finnish futsal and pride for its hometown Tampere. Since establishment in 1997 Ilves FS has won the men’s Finnish Futsal Championship eight times: 2004, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, been the runner-up three times (2002, 2006 and 2009) and ended up once at bronze medals (2001), acquiring more podiums and medals in total than any other futsal club in Finland. Ilves FS has been the Finnish representative in several UEFA Futsal Cup main round and 2013 arranged its first home tournament in Tampere. The team has been devoting itself to futsal for many years now and has started its own strategy in futsal development for kids and youth. Women’s team has played in finnish top league since 2012. Only in one decade the team has already won 4 titles and 2 medals. 

HISTORY

Ilves FS represents for the 18th season in Finnish Futsal-Liiga, the Futsal league, under the FA of Finland. The Finnish Futsal league started in 1997 and at that time the club name was Duck Park Rangers FC (DPR FC). Later the name changed to Sorsapuiston Ilves (Ilves FS) and in 2004 took place the present name Ilves FS.

MULTISPORTS CLUB

Ilves FS is part of a multisport club including ice-hockey, football, floorball and Ríngette. As leading characteristics in Ilves is a strong youth development. Ilves as a club was found in 1931 by Niilo Tammisalo. Its base is the city of Tampere and the region of Pirkanmaa situated 200 km from Helsinki the capital of Finland. Representation of our sports teams are playing a series of levels as follows:

Football: Women’s league first level, men’s Veikkausliiga first level, Futsal: Futsal League, Hockey: Mens’s league and Women’s Championship and floorball: Men first division.

Ilves Club organizes a framework for young people to engage in different types of sports by experienced coaches. Ilves is committed to comply with the seal of quality. Seal Clubs are the top clubs for children and young people in sport. They are active and forth going clubs – their kinds and communities are the best! Getting the seal of quality is a matter of honor, but it will also take responsibility for the club. Our Club strives for all its activities to comply with fair play, as well as to inspire and encourage young girls and boys to continue their sporting activities as long as possible.
